American crime drama and soap opera The Haves and Have Nots were written and directed by Tyler Perry of Gone Girl fame and Star Trek. The TV series coincides with Tyler Perry’s 2011 play “The Haves and Have Nots”. The plot focuses on two different families, one very rich and the other living in poverty, and how they meet in unexpected circumstances. Have and Have Nots is located in Savannah, the home of the wealthy Cryer family. His family is jealous on the outside because of his position and wealth, but on the inside the family loyalty is deeply ingrained because the head of the family has a bad character.

The show has attracted a lot of fans over the years and critics quickly praised The Haves and Have Nots, which is OWN’s first series. It premiered on May 28, 2013. After producing six impressive seasons, it returned with its seventh installment in January 2020. The series was canceled after the 10th episode premiere. Antoinette Robertson plays Melissa, Keith Burke as Derrick, Mark Crampton as Rocky, Quinn Walters as Gia, and Rome Flynn as RK. There are several other repetitive characters that add loyalty to the show and help build real communities where families from different walks of life come together.
